Virginia Spirits
Limited-edition label and packaging system
To celebrate America’s 250th, Virginia Spirits asked for a collectible trio of spirit labels and packaging rooted in the state’s history. I designed a story-driven set—whiskey, gin, and rum—each tied to a distinct region: mountains, heartland, and coast.
Hand-drawn, woodcut-style illustrations celebrate the terroir and history of each spirit’s landscape—taverns tucked into the hills, grain sheaves from Civil War battlegrounds, ships of the line off the Chesapeake coast. Together, they form a panoramic portrait of Virginia and its rich distilling past and present.







The packaging pulls from the language of fine craftsmanship: textured paper, debossed details, rich metallic inks, and fine cork stoppers. A black-and-white palette grounds the design with warmth and weight, while deep earth tones and golden highlights connect to the spirits inside.
Branded under a unified system—Virginia 250—the final set is elegant, collectible, and proudly rooted in place. A keepsake worth toasting.
